Eligibility Criteria:

Eye Test Certificate

You need to pass an eye test to ensure you meet the vision standards required for driving. This can be done at authorized eye testing centers.

Emirates ID

Valid Emirates ID is necessary as it serves as proof of identity and residency in the UAE.

Valid Foreign Driving License

Your current light motor vehicle driving license from your home country must be valid. This is mandatory for the application process and original needs to be shown during test.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Eye Test:

Undergo an eye test from Aster Opticals / Al Jaber Optical / Yateem Optician and obtain a certificate confirming your vision meets the required standards.

2. Legal Translation of Foreign Driving License:

Get your foreign driving license translated into Arabic by our certified translators. Within 1 or 2 working days, the application will be approved.

3. Open File for Golden Chance:

After approval, open your file for Golden Chance. Our experienced staff from Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain branches will assist you in file opening.

4. Theory Classes:

Schedule and attend theory classes online or onsite. For offline classes, you must book as per available slots and visit the training centre in Al Ain on the scheduled date and time.
  • You can only book simulator classes after completing the theory class (which usually takes about 4-5 hours)
  • If you choose online theory classes, you only need to visit the Al Ain training centre on the day of the simulator class.

5. Simulator Class:

Simulator class (onsite only) is a virtual setting where you can drive a car. You must be present at the Al Ain Training Center for the simulator classes (6 classes of 15 minutes each).
  • Once you have completed the simulator class, you can book for the theory exam date.

6. Book Theory Test:

The next step is the theory test, for which you must be present at the Al Ain training centre.
  • The test consists of 45 questions, 36 of which must be correct. Once all the answers are submitted, you will receive the results at the same time.
  • If you fail on the theory test, you can re-appear by paying an additional fee.

7. Trainee Permit Card:

Apply for a road training permit, which is mandatory for practicing in a training car. This card is valid for 6 months. Try to complete your on-road training before the card expires, otherwise you will have to renew by paying an additional fee.

8. Complete 6 Hours Compulsory Road Training:

On-road training is mandatory because you need a certificate of completion of at least 6 classes of on-road training before appearing for the final road test. Each class takes 45-60 minutes and they usually give 2 consecutive classes per day.

9. Training Completion Certificate:

Your instructor will upload a certificate after completing 6 training sessions, which is mandatory for attending the final road test.

10. Pay for Road Test Bus:

As the exam day approaches, you will receive an SMS with an online check-in link. Online check-in is required to book a bus. If you are not the first one to arrive during the exam, you will be seated on a bus with 15-20 other students. The bus will follow the test vehicle, and depending on your turn, you will be asked to get off the bus and take the final test in the test vehicle itself.

11. Final Road Test:

When it is your turn, get off the bus and sit in the test vehicle. You will meet the examiner inside. Hand him your Emirates ID. The test lasts 4-5 minutes, including 2-3 minutes of driving. Once you have completed the test, take your Emirates ID, leave the car and head back to the bus. You will receive the test result via SMS within 5-10 minutes.

12. Issuing the Driving License:

Upon successful completion of all tests and requirements, your driving license will be delivered within 2-3 days.
